  16. I use linux ckermit but sometimes I use dos kermit (from real dos
  17. not an emulator). I know mskermit is not being updated. I am
  18. just curious about a mysterious behavior that is really not
  19. a problem. I start in the dir where the binary/patches/dialing
  20. directory/init files are. I have not switched dirs from kermit as the
  21. prompt shows, yet I get the message dialing directory not found
  22. when I try to dial. The comand "cd" or the strange command   
  23. "cd ."  puts everything right; when I dial the dialing file _is_
  24. now found and the call proceeds normally.
